Hyderabad: In a groundbreaking move, GMR Aero Technic (GAT), the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) division of GMR Air Cargo and Aerospace Engineering Ltd. (GACAEL), unveiled key partnerships with Lufthansa Technik AG (LHT) and Spirit Aero Systems at the Wings India 2024 event held in Hyderabad today.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formalized between GAT and LHT, solidifying a collaboration to introduce the innovative Cyclean® technology to Indian airports. This initiative aims to enhance operational efficiency for regional operators by implementing an eco-friendly engine cleaning system that not only saves water and fuel but also significantly reduces emissions.

Cyclean® ensures a clean and safe collection of wastewater without adverse environmental impacts, reinforcing GMR Aero Technic's commitment to sustainability in aviation.

Furthermore, a strategic partnership was established with Spirit Aero Systems, a global leader in aerostructures manufacturing. This collaboration pioneers a state-of-the-art Aircraft Nacelle component repair service at the GMR Aero Technic Base Maintenance Facility in Hyderabad. This development marks a pivotal milestone in GAT's MRO journey, positioning it as a comprehensive hub for Nacelle repair services.

Commenting on this significant development, Mr. Ashok Gopinath, President & Accountable Manager of GMR Aero Technic, emphasized, "The partnerships with Lufthansa Technik AG and Spirit Aero Systems exemplify our commitment to delivering exceptional value through innovation and the latest technology solutions. These augmented capabilities will establish our MRO facility as the go-to hub for customers, providing a valuable addition for our base maintenance clients."

Lufthansa Technik AG, headquartered in Hamburg, stands as the world's leading provider of technical aircraft services, offering maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for around one in five commercial aircraft globally.

Spirit AeroSystems, headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, is internationally recognized for its expertise in aluminium and advanced composite manufacturing solutions, serving the commercial aeroplane, defense platform, and business/regional jet markets.

With these strategic alliances, GMR Aero Technic is poised to redefine the landscape of MRO services, integrating cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices for the benefit of its clientele.
